The Air Conditioning Centre: A Unique Alliance
Global manufacturer Samsung and leading distributor HRP have forged a strategic alliance which is changing the air conditioning marketing in Great Britain. The Air Conditioning Centre, a specially formed subsidiary of HRP supported by Samsung, trades as the Samsung Air Conditioning Centre (SACC).

The Air Conditioning Alliance: A Clear Mission
Key objective of the SACC alliance is to support specification and installation of Samsung air conditioning systems in major projects, especially the record breaking DVM System (Digital Variable Multi VRF System). The alliance team is also tasked with supporting sales of the complete range of Samsung air conditioning products through HRP’s nationwide wholesale branch network – from the slim and elegant RAC Systems (room air conditioning wall mount systems), to CAC Systems (the huge range of Ceiling Air Conditioners) and FJM Systems (the flexible Free Joint Multi Split solution). The SACC alliance team is also uniquely qualified to advise on Samsung’s ERV System (Energy Recovery Ventilation products) and controls.

Jonathan Pettitt, Samsung National Sales Manager, says the ground-breaking alliance with HRP is a major part of Samsung’s UK growth strategy for air conditioning. “The UK is an important market for air conditioning and the alliance with HRP significantly extends our reach with the full range of DVM Plus III and split systems,” he says.

Mandy Pilgrim, HRP Group Managing Director, says: “With Samsung we have developed a bold and different alliance which enables us to grow the DVM Plus III business through our new wholly owned subsidiary, SACC. It gives specifiers the advantage of dealing with ‘manufacturer’s representatives’, while installers will enjoy the convenience of purchasing through a major wholesaler with a widespread branch network.”

Fujitsu General (Aust.) Pty Limited is one of the leading suppliers of air conditioning products in Australia. The company’s origins date back to the early seventies through a sales distribution company known as General Colour Pty Ltd, selling colour televisions. In 1980 we became a full subsidiary of the General Corporation in Japan and General Corporation Japan (Aust.) Pty Ltd was formed. This change saw the company expand into a number of different consumer electronics products such as air conditioners, televisions and refrigerators to name a few.

In 1989 a new association was formed in Japan and the company globally became known as Fujitsu General Limited. Over time the company decided to focus its research and manufacturing strengths into air conditioning technology. This core focus has resulted in Fujitsu General producing market leading products of a world class standard.

In Australia Fujitsu General enjoys the envious position as the number one supplier of air conditioning products to the Australian market. Hence our company slogan “Australia’s Favourite Air”. Over the last few years we have seen our air conditioning range expand rapidly and we now offer products to suit both domestic and commercial applications. We have offices and warehouse facilities established in all major capital cities around Australia servicing our retailer and dealer sales channels across the country.

Toshiba is committed to delivering the highest standards of quality and innovation across our product range and services. For more than 40 years Toshiba has led the world in creating better air conditioning; setting new standards in comfort, ease of use, energy conservation and climate control.

The Toshiba Air Conditioning product range encompasses a comprehensive Inverter range to suit residential and commercial applications, ranging from residential to commercial systems, Toshiba Inverter systems provide excellent energy efficiency, are reliable and run on R410a non-ozone depleting refrigerant.

Our Philosophy

The company’s origins go back to 1875 when the Tanaka Engineering Works was established as Japan’s first manufacturer of telegraphic equipment. The last 30 years Toshiba has studied, designed and innovated for the air conditioning market, a sector that is now very competitive and crowded.

For Toshiba Quality is a priority. Today and even tomorrow, this will be the real difference between us and many other air conditioning manufactures. This is the philosophy that forms the basis of every air conditioner that leaves our production lines – no deviation from this course. No compromise – only quality.

What makes Toshiba so special?

COMBINING TECHNOLOGY WITH COMFORT

The true quality of residential air conditioning goes well past our capacity to control and direct air and filtration. There are many stages and additional functions, such as pre-treatment, removal of fine particles and allergens from the air. Ultimately, the Daisekai model includes a beneficial shower of negative ions and electrostatic purification.

Toshiba has anticipated many legislative regulations on the control of refrigerant emissions into the atmosphere, and has pioneered solutions that only a few can claim similar technological supremacy. For example Toshiba was the first air conditioning manufacturer to launch a product range with non-ozone depleting refrigerant R410a back in 1999.

The company’s story began in 1984, when Garry Mundy and his two sons Robert and Kevin became interested in how air conditioning systems operated, and decided to design and build one for the family home in Sydney. The trio succeeded and news of their product travelled quickly. Soon the Mundy family was inundated with requests, and the ActronAir® success story was born.

From these humble beginnings, the Mundy family quickly discovered that there was a gap in the market for high quality ducted air conditioning systems that were both energy efficient and designed for easier installation. It is this simple philosophy that has lead to numerous air conditioning product innovations over the past 2 decades.

Regarded as the quiet achiever in the Australian air conditioning industry, ActronAir® has evolved into a fully integrated design, development and manufacturing facility.

The company’s head office, located at Bella Vista in Sydney’s north west, covers more than 2 hectares. The 10,500 square metre world class manufacturing facility includes a sheet metal fabrication line, powder coating facilities and commercial and residential assembly lines.

“Today, ActronAir® is one of the largest Australian owned manufacturers of world class ducted air conditioners”, says Robert. “Over the years we’ve quietly built a reputation for performance, reliability and service that’s second to none. The working knowledge vested in the company’s principles, combined with more than 20 years of research and development, has resulted in one of the quietest, most energy efficient split ducted and packaged air conditioning systems in the world. Our purpose-built research and development facility specialises in the development of energy efficient ducted air conditioning systems and embodies sustainable design philosophies to optimise consumer comfort.”
